BLUE BUFFALO GRASS

Cenchrus ciliaris

Buffalo grass is a summer growing perennial forage crop. The plants are tufted and can have short rhizomes. This grass is very drought resistant. The growth form makes this species ideal for soil cover and erosion control.

 

This grass is best adapted to areas where the annual rainfall is between 350 mm and 750 mm.
