ZINNIA
Zinnia elegans
Zinnias are annual warm-season flowering plants from the Asteraceae family.
Zinnia flowers come in a variety of bright colours - from white to pink, red, purple, green, yellow, and orange. Some are striped, speckled or bicoloured.
Zinnias grow easily - preferring well-drained soils and full sun. They are considered "drought-tolerant", performing best in warm, dry climates. They are sensitive to frost. They reseed themselves each year.

Zinnias attract bees and butterflies. They are used as a component in "insect haven" mixtures - particularly in orchards.
